"STORIES ONSTAGE" CHILDREN"S WORKSHOP APPLICATION NOW OPEN!!!

The PCPH Children's Theatre Workshop is back!  The workshop for children entering grades 2-5 will be held daily July 25-July 29. Sessions will be conducted from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  A "work in progress" presentation will be given Friday, July 29, at 7 p.m. at the Hazel Day Longden Theatre.

During the workshop each day, the participants will receive an hour of instruction in movement, voice, and acting techniques through theatre games and activities. The second hour is spent rehearsing a short play, applying the techniques they have learned.

This year's program includes two original comic sketches featuring classic mythological characters.  The sketches bring to mind the recent film Inside/Out as it might have been seen through the eyes of Greek, Norse, and Roman mythology.

The Friday, July 29. performance is free and open to the public. It will be presented on the mainstage in the theatre. The evening will open with the workshop participants demonstrating some of the activities and games they have learned.  These are followed by a performance of the sketches.

The mission of the Children's Workshop is to bring to younger children the love of theatre. It provides them an opportunity to explore their creativity and learn to collaborate with others while expressing themselves onstage.

The registration deadline is July 20. Participation is limited to 30 children. The workshop is free.
