On Tuesday, October 7, members of the Greencastle Chamber of Commerce were invited for lunch at Putnam County Playhouse. They were greeted by members of the Board of Directors including Second Vice President, Linda Gjesvold.
The event began with a meet and greet in the Rehearsal Center.
After lunch, Chamber members were taken on a tour of the facility. Their guides were Board Members like Drew Brattain who were on hand to answer questions and explain the different aspects of theatre.
Everybody enjoyed the box lunch, but there was no bidding for them as it's done in "Oklahoma!".
PCPH Board President Michael McClaine welcomed everyone and talked a bit about the history and mission of the Playhouse: "To provide those in the county and the surrounding area, the opportunity to participate in and enjoy live theater."
The tour included the backstage area where Shop Manager Gjesvold talked about how sets were designed and constructed.
Chamber members were given the opportunity to step on the stage and see the Hazel Day Longden Theatre from the actor's point of view.
Caroline Good helped them "find their light."
At the end of the day, board members worked to put the chairs on risers and cover them in preparation for the refinishing of the theatre floor.
And so we say farewell to our 53rd season. Don't forget the Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 19, at 3 p.m.
